because, as a teacher, you're an employee of the Catholic church, which means, in essence you're representing the Catholic church and its' beliefs in the eyes of the children you teach and the parents you interact with. And just like a Coke driver can't drink pepsi while they're in uniform, if you're not presenting the Catholic lifestyle, you're not gonna be paid to teach in a Catholic school.

They discriminate on invalid grounds. It sometimes happens in Australia too but, as a Buddhist, I have taught at Catholic and Anglican schools in England and I am currently teaching at a non denominational school in Australia. A friend of mine (who introduced me to Buddhism) teaches at a Catholic school and is married to an ex Catholic Priest.

Well, they're violating labour laws if they do that. You can always report that to the labour board. It's like saying you can't teach at a catholic school because you're not catholic. Legally, they can't do that.

They don't belong to their stupid Catholic exclusive club. I can say this because i am a former catholic, and am now a Christian

probably coz they dont want the students influenced by other teachers and beliefs

they have to keep it in the family, can't chance not getting money from them..........
