DARFUR? There is a genocide, and many people I meet have not even HEARD of the country. I am part of a club, and some of the members and I went to Washington D.C. went to protest the genocide. Darfur is in Africa and the black Africans are routinely attacked, raped, and worse by the janjaweed. (a.k.a. arab militia.) Yes, its pretty sad, isn't, and the saddest part, is that the rebals are actually backed by the government there, so its not any good sending aid except to all the surrounding countries and hope that the persecuted people make it into a camp there.

yeah actually i have. one of my friends did a speech on darfur in my speech and drama class and then she sold t-shirts or something and all of the money went to help.

Yep. Heard about it in school. I just graduated from a Catholic high school. It's sick that our government can be aware of it & because they haven't called it "genocide" (which it IS) they don't have to do anything!!!
