Wisdom is knowledge of God's Word.
Psa 14:1 The fool hath said in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, they have done abominable works, there is none that doeth good.
Sow to your spirit, the flesh will perish and so can your spirit.

As someone said its hard to shut them up as you can probably see ^hint hint^ , no matter how much proof you give them they will always retort and always with the same damn BS they said ten minutes ago .
Its they're faith man not only that but its one that states it can not be wrong.... certainly you can see how that can install a feeling of righteousness... and so they preach ...and preach .
But I agree the bible does have stories with-in it worthy of a fairy tale and how Christians think quoting a book that is not only dated but also morbid , discriminating and chalk full of overly exaggerated stories , will somehow convert all non-believers is beyond me .
Oh and I'm sorry to do this but I absolutely have to correct a few people that have already answered....To Taffy , the religion and spirituality section is not limited to Christians though that does seems to be the majority here, which brings me to...Carolyn , Christians a minority ? ha , girl I would love to know where/how you gathered those statistics ....and to all the other Christians who the postee probably wasn't posing his question to but never less felt the need to preach , I have only two things to say :
One is if you don't want people to think your delusional don't try to defend your sanity by quoting the very same book in which the person your arguing with just call fanciful , it only gives them further conviction as to your insanity .
And second is even if your little fable says there is not , there are more than only one truths/beliefs out there so be happy with what you believe in and let other people do the same . Don't try to "enlighten" the voluntarily "ignorant" .
There are countless questions on this site calling non-Christians and or non-believers sinners so why should there not be questions doubting the validity of Christianity ?
Oh now I know ...how dumb of me.... the religion and spirituality section should be used only by Christians , is that it ? Well alright then looks like all us pagans , atheists and general non-Christians have to start posting our Religion/Christian concerned questions in the Home and Garden section instead . Would that be more conventient for you ?

I think that you ought to try reading the Bible and listening to stories of faith and love and God so that the hate and anger in your heart will be replaced by understanding and open mindedness. The problem with you is that you talk about things you don't understand and believe in. By referring to events in the Bible and saying that this event is dumb without even knowing what really happened and how that came about is , I think, dumber. Maybe you should study and gain more knowledge so that you will not be an ignoramus with regards to people's religion. When you have learned more, maybe then you will gain a better understanding of the different religions of the world and be humbled by the belief that you can not be in this life without a God . By the way, before you call other people dumb, maybe you should also browse up on your grammar, spelling and sentence structure so people will not call you DUMB, too.

No answer to the question, but I want to respond to the answer who compared the decline of the Roman Empire to modern day times. The comparison isn't completely inaccurate.
When the Roman Empire went into decline, Christianity was the common religion. While Rome was dominated by pagan worshipers, they ruled the world. Their economy was better than any other place on the planet. After Christianity took over, it all fell apart. They lost control of everything but modern day Italy.
I doubt the change in Religion had much to do with it, but it is deceptive to pretend that the Roman Empire fell apart because they were "godless" or were in a "spiritual crisis." Unless you consider Christianity the problem.

You're the disillusioned, Just because I believe in a God that is so powerful He can do anything, including speak through a burning bush does not mean I'm crazy. It's sad that you refuse to believe in reality, In God, the creator of everything you see. Look around, isn't it obvious that NONE of this could happen by chance, TRY TO THINK, Besides, without God we would just be purposeless machines that lived and produced more purposeless machines. God gives me life, and purpose to go along with it.

How sad that you have asked your question with such illiteracy. Unfortunately spell check doesn't catch synonyms. Those are the words like here and hear or there and their. If you are going to challenge someones intellect by attacking their religion, perhaps you should make sure that your post is not showing a lack of the intellect you seem to think you have.
You are certainly welcome to your opinion regarding the existence or nonexistence of God. His omnipresence and eternal existence does not depend on the belief of those whose eyes have not been opened. So, listen or don't listen to those who believe in God. It really won't affect my eternity one way or the other...However, if you really want an answer to your question, the reason people listen to Christians is because they are seeking truth and fulfillment for a hunger they feel in their soul. Of course if you don't believe in God, you probably don't believe you have a soul...so you will not be likely to feel a hunger in something you don't believe you possess.
Thanks for the challenging question.

The ones that listen are brainwashed and or gullible and or uneducated.
"You believe in a book that has talking animals, wizards, witches, demons, sticks turning into snakes, food falling from the sky, people walking on water, and all sorts of magical, absurd and primitive stories, and you say that we are the ones that need help?"
- Dan Barker
"Once we can look at religion objectively and impartially, it becomes entirely obvious that religion has all the characteristics of a form of insanity. To one degree or another the religious mind must accept, and believe in, another world; a supernatural or unnatural world, a world filled with all sorts of imaginary beings called gods, devils, angels, saints, demons, etc. These imaginary creatures are talked to, asked for favors, guidance, "signs", or miracles, and then blamed or thanked for natural events that follow. Except for the cloak of religion, such beliefs and actions would otherwise cause an individual to be judged insane, and committed to an institution for treatment."
- Emmet F. Fields

God loves every one, even people who do not believe in him. He wants to have a relationship with you. He does not force you to have a relationship with him, but he wants to have one with you.
I have a relationship with God. I am not dumb, delusional, on drugs, or schizophrenic.
One reason non-Christians listen to Christians is that they realize that they are incomplete and that a relationship with God is what is missing. Some non-Christians open their hearts and minds and form that relationship. Some harden their hearts through hate, destructive behavior, or other things and wall themselves off from a relationship with God. I am hopeful that your presence in this Ask area indicates that you haven't yet hardened your heart and that you are open to learning more about God and Jesus and to working on that relationship.

he he... That's going to be a great Question for you to ask God at the Great White Throne Judgment. Gonna wish you never said or thought it then :) But hey I could be wrong, doubt it. Did you ever stop to think what is going to happen when you find out the Bile was true. You'll have along time to think about it...an Eternity.

Correction: Why don't people EVER listen to what Christians say? Bigoted idiots like you are now the majority in the country , and our society is in a moral and spiritual crisis right now and is on the decline just like the Roman Empire. Your work is done. Are you happy now!? Now just leave us Christian minorities alone.
