Anyone have any ideas on how to deal with a brutal murder the way my cousin Tommy Tucker died?

Tommy is one of the soldiers who died in baghdad. They beheaded him and the other soldier, then dragged them behind a truck. When the army found the bodies they were lined with bombs in hopes to kill other soldiers.

I'm so sorry for your loss - I keep turning it over and over in my own head and I didn't even know him but live in Bend so feel he was like a neighbor I just hadn't ever run into. These monsters do monstrous things is the only way I can rationalize such a horrific deed - they are not human and are pure evil. I've read that in the face of certain death, a calmness comes that some how transports our consciousness outside of ourselves and the terror that you would expect some one to be experiencing in a situation like that isn't what occurs. Persons that have survived torture and women who have been raped, brutalized and left for dead have told of being in a state of shock that enabled them to transcend the pain - I believe God comes to us in situations like this to help with it. Know that he is o.k. now & one day you will see him again. This is beyond ordinary grief for the family because of the unimaginable circumstances - many people are thinking of you all and wishing you strength and eventual peace along with our prayers.

Take it a day at a time. We are going through that now as well. Pray to the Lord for help and talk with your doctor and pastor, along with friends.
