I have some serious back and neck problems and am going on a 7hr plane trip to Hawaii. Two hours of sitting/standing is really painful for me, and plan seats are so awful for my back. I have a few tricks from my physical therapist but they dont work great. I've got plenty of meds but they dont always work either. I'm really nervous... any suggestions in getting rid of/dealing with the pain?

Have you asked the airline if you could have a front row seat? This will help you stretch out a bit more.

I saw a product on TV the other day - portable heat packs. They are just like a bandage but it applies a steady supply of heat to the area for several hours - maybe this would help?

Maybe ask your doctor for a mild sedative and anti-inflammatory?

Try a travel neck pillow; maybe a small one for your back as well. You probably want to check with your doctor first.
