Your crown may not be the center and back. have someone look for your whorl or swirl. it's the place that rair seems to "radiate " from. this is your crown. With rollers, your ears should be about center of your head. trace yourself a line (using your finger) to make an arc over the top of the head. this is where to begin rolling. If you have bangs begin where your bangs end and your longer hair starts. You go town to the "ridge" of your skull (you'll recognize the bump).

The crown of your head would be the very top, behind where you would have "bangs", if you had them.. essentially, it's the place where you would wear a crown, were you so inclined!
