Sally's has a really good ceramic iron by the brand Hot Tools. It works really well, and because its cermaic, it takes less time to heat up as well as less time to straighten. It works really good and is not that expensive.

I would also invest in a straightening shampoo such as Matrix Sleek Look. It is a whole system of smoothing products that will work with your iron and actually help smooth your hair. Its pretty much the professional version of Pantene (which is very bad for your hair) or Thermasilk.

Ceramic straighteners are the best for your hair and give you the best result. You can buy an inexpensive one for around $40, and still have it be good quality. Also, try using a shampoo and conditioner that works with heat such as Thermasilk.

i used to work at a beauty supply store-- Hot Tools is the best. Also, make sure you get 'ceramic'. It a little more expensive, but well worth it- won't dry out your hair!
