Been there, done that.
It is normal. I waited too long to stop doing that. Don't be afraid to take chances. You may fail -- but you can learn from failures. You can't learn from doing nothing.

At your age it is actually normal that you are shy around girls. It is better to be friends and try to have a real girlfriend, because relationships end soon and that hinders the friendships. Church is an excellent place to meet girls and get to know what they are about. In mean time build your own character.

Im 12 and I also find it hard to talk to guys (im a girl) and what has always helped me is to get to know them or at first talk to them on email and soon you'll warm up. Like for example, you'd say hi when you see her and then the next day you'd complement her or comment on something, then soon enough you'll be chatting with eachother like you've been the best of friends for 5 years!!!!

Let it all hang out. Tell the ladies that you're a "real piece of work". Walk tall and mutter. Don't let 'em tread on your backside. Give 'em hell. Carry a phone and throw it around like a jerky. Tell the ladies that you're a "greenhorn with guts". Tell 'em that you "ride the bicycle backwards". Spit in your hand, then put it in your pocket. Carry a Dr. Suess book and read it to the ladies like poetry.

Dude, you're 12. Give yourself a break. You've got time.
Best thing you can do is find one or two girls to be buddies with, and just buddies. Get comfortable talking to them, and it won't be so hard when you meet new ones.

Everyone is shy hanging around gurls at that age if you havent really done it before you just got to do it and it will get to where ur not shy
