They talked about this on the Today show weekend edition today. They could really use your books. The librarian from one school was on and said that the books being donated are adult novels and not suitable for the school library. I hope this helps.

You might try to do an internet search for local schools and see what you come up with. If you can find contact info for the schools, you could ask them if they were interested in a donation of children's books. Also, if schools are unable to take the books, perhaps a city or county library would be interested.

And what about ALL the children in your own community that could use those books? I volunteer at the local school in the second grade level, we do not have a very good supply. So I hunt the local thrift shops for them, Hospice shops & Salvation Army are some of the cheapest. Come on! Think local!

If it was me I would go for the first two, but the last one would be a great choice also.
