My invitations that I have put together (but haven't sent) are black and grey. I'm thinking of changing my colors from black and silver to burnt orange and dark chocolate brown since the ceremony is 3 days before Halloween. Do I need to start from scratch on the invitations or is it okay to have the ceremony different from the invites?

I wasn't talking a Halloween theme, just colors of the fall season. It also makes the flowers easier to find.

I'm planning a wedding of my own and have gone back and forth with this same exact thing.
I ordered black and white invitations and then found invitations that have my colors on them (pink and green) while I love the new invitiations, I honestly dont think its worth the time or money to replace them.
You can still have the same invitations and just decorate the hall and church with your new colors (which is what I'm doing)
Most people dont even bother bringing the invitation with them to the ceremony or reception and wont even think twice about the invitations not matching the color scheme.
Just focus on the new colors you chose when you buy flowers and everything else you need to decorate. I know it sucks that your invitations arent the ones you want, but put the extra money that you were going to spend on another batch of invitations toward an hour-long massage or some other type of self-pampering to make you feel relaxed and beauiful (and to simply reduce stress!)
Hope that helps :-) Good luck with your wedding!!! I know I cant wait until mine!!

You're fine with the invites you already have. Black will coordinate with the other colors you want to use and silver doesn't clash. Besides, no one will be bringing the invite to the wedding.

Nah... its nice for the invitations to match your wedding theme, but isn't necessary. People aren't going to be thinking about your invites on your big day. I don't think it is necessary to mention in your invite that your colors are different either. Its not like people dress to match weddings.
Do you bridesmaids already have their dresses? If so, I do not think that you can ask them to purchase another dress, that would be totally tacky.

quite honestly no one will even remember what colour your invites are, only you! By the time your wedding comes around all everyone will be thinking about is how lovely you look and what are they gonna get to eat!! Send the invites, they sound classy and neutral anyway.

I'd say it's fine to use the invites you already have. The colors of your invites are pretty neutral anyways, so it won't matter...plus if you've already spent the money on them, why waste them??

It okay to have different colors, but I would rethink the Halloween theme. Do you want to think of Halloween & your wedding as one? Kind of tacky!
