Just ask it. It will meow each year it's age is.

One of the best indicators for the layman is the "canine" teeth, the fangs on each side of the cat's upper front teeth. These continue to grow throughout the cat's life, so that an older cat will get a bit "toothy" there. For instance, my 18-year old kitty's fangs are easily more than twice as long as his other teeth.

This isn't an exact indicator. Even veterinarians have a hard time placing a mature cat's age. (For instance, no vet would guess my cat is 18, nor would I, if I hadn't had him since he was about 6 weeks old.) Once they've lost their baby teeth it's largely a matter of estimating the teeth and general condition. A good vet may be able to tell you that the cat is at least x years old, but that's about it

You will have to take this cat to the vet and have them to guestimate by the cats teeth. I thought mine was much younger than what he is and come to find out he was as old as my oldest son. So now, I have cat who is 20!
