Rights must be defended -- but intelligently; although in some situations it may be wise to voluntarily refrain from exercising some rights for a time...
First step is to think. What is freedom? Is it the freedom to do what you want, or the freedom to do what is right? Which freedom(s) have you been able to exercise previously that you cannot exercise now? Does the exercise of this right infringe in any way on anyone else's right(s)?
Second step is to determine the appropriate approach. Do you air the issue in the public forum and make people aware that way, and possibly make people think you're a bit of a lunatic? Or do you take the approach championed by Gandhi, M.L.King, Thorough, and others, which is to protest an unjust law by breaking it and accepting the consequences, thus demonstrating a mature respect for the rule of law.
Again, defend our rights, but do it wisely.

I waill always fight for my rights, if you are afraid to do so then you have already lost sight of the bigger picture.
the so called "big brother" government is an idea that pertains to the whole world, if we allow any government to begin down that path then we may as well burn the Constitution of the US, the Declaration of Independance, the Magna Carta....The UN is already obsolite in that it is controlled by the most powerful countries in the world, so what comes next, a complete European Union creating another global superpower, subserviant to the others or in conjuction with them it slowly moves to a 1 world governmemnt, the new world order.....not while there is a breath in my body!
Dont get me wrong...i think that the world should unite and become one society but the current standards of governing are not sufficient for the task, Even democracy needs to evolve before it can even be considered a viable global government
So for now I will fight for my rights, i will fight for a Constitutional Convention within the US so that the people of the US will at least have the opportunity to take control of thier government once again....
VOTE CONSTITUTIONAL CONVENTION!!!!
Peace to all...now more than ever!!!!

I think it's best to choose your battles. If it's a worthy fight that needs fighting, yes. But there are so many issues going on in our lives right now, I'd only worry about the big ones.

which rights? please answer in a message
p.s. where in Texas do you live? i live in Arlington
--well in that case i do not compleatly agree with you; I think if a random person takes flying lessons, gets a fifty million check and then suddenly gets a free trip to DC the government should know. And if someone wants to stand in the middle of the road and spew profanities at families with children for "irresponsibly" overpopulating the world. And should Death Cults and Child Molestation be tollerated just cuz its "private?"

If you don't like the way the "powers that be" are...then, run for office and initiate a change.

I live my life as I choose to live it.
Anyone who does not approve can simply ignore me.
If you choose to judge me, realize that you will be judged.
If I do not live with you, sleep with you, or am otherwise involved with you, your opinion simply does not matter :-)
Realize that we all have to look at ourselves in the mirror in the morning :-)
I absolutely refuse to confrom to societys' standards. I feel they are not in touch with there own well being.

Instead of babbling nonsense, why don't you ask a specific question? You're sounding like drug damaged 1960's hippie.
