You know as well as I do, that even with such a prominent disclaimer, there are some people that will still post their medical emergencies here, and suffer thru the silly responses.
Some people just can't help themselves.....

At the top of the health page anyway. Frankly, as long as 911 has been touted I am a bit surprised it needs to be repeated here.
Keep in mind though that a lot of people who come here looking for answers are scared but trying to avoid hospital costs.

I feel like if it was ""really"" a bad situation for a person, they wouldn't have time to get on-line, surf to Yahoo!'s Answers, and ask, then wait on a response.... probably either had this problem in the past, or just want some attention, but if it were really a "life threatening" situation, I have a hard time believing that someone would be sitting at their computer lol

I agree! if you think you have a medical problem, go to the emergency room or schedule an appointment! Most doctors have clauses on their insurance that keeps them from giving away free advice. And as a nurse, i KNOW i cannot legally answer anything like that.

I read that question, too.
An electrocution would've already taken them out by now...I'm not sure the question was truthful, or just to get attention.
Even an idiot will seek help when they really need it (via ambulance or going to the ER)...but yes, I agree, some of these questions are REALLY stupid!
And if it's pay that's an issue...call an ambulance, have them check you out, and then decline to be taken to the hospital.
No ambulance bill, and if you need to go, then you know you need to go, if not, then they'll tell you.

I also answered a question once about a guy who said his wife had hit her head and it was bleeding, and he wanted to know how to stop the bleeding. He even said that taking her to the emergency room wasn't an option!
there are some crazies out there....I agree, let natural selection take care of them

I agree 100%. I wonder how much some of this stuff is truthful, I have a hard time believing some of these people think yahoo answers is going to save their lives!! Not that there aren't a lot of really smart people on here, mind you!!

This is international! 911 is not going to cut it. I just say natural selection. It's god plan it will work out. Be sides how bad is it when they can still type and wait for answers.
