He's an absolute doll... his previous owner has called him chicken wing because his leg is amputated at the knee and looks like a chicken wing... but i'd kinda like to give him something a little more original...

well, first off I must say that "Chicken Wing" is a pretty unique cat name but anyway, let see here......how about Hop-Frog which is the name of an Edgar Allen Poe story about a small handicapped man who is kidnapped and treated cruelly by an evil tyrant and his councellors. In the end he overcomes his disability and kills the evil men. A macabre ending I know but it is Poe that we're talking about here, it was actually a suprisingly uplifting story if you want to be technical. Anyway, I choose Hop-Frog. I also think Ahab is totally appropriate.

How about Stumpy, Or Peg Leg Pete? Good for you adopting a "special needs" pet. Those pets normally don't fare so well in life, unless they meet up with decent humans like you.

Stonewall....I have a tripod named Gracie because we figured it would be by the grace of god that she survived. (She had a bad infection and i nursed her till she was healthy enough to have surgery at 8 weeks and they had to amputate her back leg.) My kids were learning about the civil war and got enammored by stonewall jackson loosing his arm to friendly fire.
