I found the book to be very informative and easy to read.
I've lost 17 pounds in 12 days, I'm just concerned that I'm losing too much weight, too quickly. I will admit I haven't followed the guide exactly. I'm not sticking perfectly to the listed foods and meal plans (but mostly) and doing very little exercise, but the weight keeps flying off.
It clearly works and if I'd followed it exactly I think it would scare the living daylights out of me because of the amount that I'd lose. So thanks again for the information. I've never purchased anything like this before because they are usually full of trash, but 3WD has been a pleasant surprise.
Get started today!

You are grossly over weight, 15 lbs. isn't going to help much. I would have to know how tall you are before I could tell you what you should weigh. But at your age you would have to be around 7' 6" tall to safely carry around that much weight. You need to do some drastic lifestyle changes. Cut out all the junk food, all the fatty food, ALL the sweets. Until you lose a lot of weight you need to do a veggie diet. Drink lots and lots of water, the more water you drink the less food you can hold, water will not cause you to gain weight and will keep the fat washed out of your system as you burn it off. And exercise, exercise, exercise a LOT! That is what is going to cause the weight loss. The dieting is only going to keep it from coming back.
Walk every morning and every evening. Start with 1 mile each time, than build yourself up to 4 miles morning & 4 miles evening. As you can, you need to start doing high stress exersizes such as sit-ups, jumping jacks, leg lifts etc.. Do not just stop eating and doing a lot of exercising all at once, work yourself into it slowly. You didn't gain all that weight overnight and you are not going to lose it overnight. I would say for a person of your age, if you are average heigth, you need to lose around 100 lbs. to be at a healthy weight. AND! after you lose the weight (and you will) you need to continue to eat smart and exercise daily. Good luck and Gods speed.

You didn't gain all the weight immediately and you won't lose it all that way. An average weight loss of 2 lbs per week is a good goal. This will also give your skin time to slowly retract, because it has stretched due to the extra weight. It's great that as a young woman your thinking of your health. Brisk walking is a great exercise. A program like Weight Watchers which concentrates on portion control and exercise over denial of certain food groups, usually has the best chance of long term success. Remember to ease your way into exercise if you haven't been active, if you overdue it too soon you may be tempted to give up due to soreness. Depending on your height and body type you will find a weight range to be your goal. Don't aim to low remember even supermodels aren't really that thin. Small changes everyday lead to big success. side salad instead of fries, water instead of soda, grilled foods instead of fried, low fat tastes better than no fat, but that doesn't mean you should over even too much diet food is too much. More fruits and vegetables, less empty calories. I wish you luck it's a daily struggle to make good choices instead of easy ones.

It depends on what your eating and how you live. If you are sitting at home everyday and not doing anything except eating and sitting/sleeping/lying down your gonna gain weight. And also if you eat a lot of junk food you will obviously gain weight. If you really want to lose weight start by eating a healthy breakfast, lunch and dinner. (skipping meals can make you gain weight) start reading the labels of your food and try and watch out for food with lots of saturated fats and high frutose corn syrup (trust me its in almost everything) it is a type of sugar that makes it so you don't stop eating. Also do a little bit of exercise for 1 hour, 3 days out of the week will help too. If none of that helps you lose weight then you may want to see a doctor because you could have a serious medical problem. Hope it helps!

Talk to your Mother. Get her to take you to the doctor for a checkup to ensure that you are physically sound before you begin any kind of diet. Stay away from diet pills and quick fixes. It took time to gain this weight and you have to look at it rationally, it will take some time to get rid of it. Don't panic if you don't reach your goal by your birthday. But, be determined. Keep a journal and determine when you eat, what is going on that makes you eat, etc. Set yourself some goals and follow the plan your doctor gives you. Then exercise. Start slowly and build up. Walking is the best. Dancing is also good. Read resource materials that support and encourage you. And good luck. Remember you are 15. It will come off and you will be fine. Good luck.

Hey there! It would not be wise for you to lose 15 pounds in such a short time. It's not healthy, you would have to starve yourself, and then when you begin to eat again, you will gain it ALL back and even MORE! It's best to lose 1 pound a week because you can do it safely. Do you like to walk? If so, find a nice walking trail close to where you live, or walk the track at your school. Just walk, walk, walk every day and you will be surprised how much weight you can lose....WITHOUT dieting. But also, drink a TON of water. Hope this helps sweetheart...

Limit your sugars and carbs - notice I said limit not omit. Also swim, swim, swim. When I was 19 years old I was a size 18. I swam 1000 meters in the morning and 1000 meters in the evening. In less than two months I went to a size 8. Although that was quick - I was very concious what I put in my mouth not undo the progress. I like to chew on something or basically have something in my mouth all the time - Granny Smith apples are good. They are filling and give you that crunch. I am in my 30's and still swim about 1000 meters 6 days a week.
Don't worry you can do it - just decide and tell yourself that there is no going back!

You don't have to stop eating or poop more, like other people are saying.
Eat less proportions, but more meals. Have breakfast (a small bowl of healthy cereal and, perferably, soy milk), then have a snack (banana, apple, orange, etc). At lunch, have organic peanut butter and HONEY on Ezekial bread. Between lunch and dinner, have some pretzels or Veggie chips. For dinner, have a vegetable (not frozen or canned, think produce aisle). If you're going to eat meat, think mostly seafood or turkey. If you can go without meat, try Morningstar fake meats. They have recipes for ways to eat Morningstar on the website. Dessert? Apple sauce. Its sweet, tangy, tasty, and good for you. (make sure its all natural).
No sodas, slow down on the carbs and sweets, burgers w/o bread, you know the drill.
And WORK OUT. Cardio mainly. Go to a gym and get on the EFX machine, or take your bike for a spin. Jog. Sits ups. Push ups. Etc. DISCIPLINE is the most difficult thing about this, remember that. Put your mind to it, you know you can do it!

I don't mean for this to sound harsh, but I have been in your shoes and the answer is to stop eating when you are bored, tired, watching TV, or playing on the computer. If you only eat when you are paying full attention to the food then you eat way less. I have spent the last 10 years of my life trying to loose the weight I gained as a teenager because I thought I was fat and no one liked me for it...then I ate. This is so avoidable....don't find comfort in food. After 10 years of struggling I have found that food is my enemy not my friend....it will not make me feel better, it is what makes me feel bad to begin with. Please contact me if you need more individual help, but know that I feel your pain and want you to be happy. Best wishes

She sounds like she is at an average weight. She is too young to be worrying about things like dieting. The best thing for her to do is to cut out soda from her diet. Many people I know have found this to make a HUGE difference. She could also take up a sport during the school year along with making a few more healthy diet choices throughout the day. No serious diet plans but have carrot sticks or apples for a snack as opposed to chips. good luck! :)
