yes, like the other peron said, belly dancing is better but hula hooping for extended periods of time can actually train your abs quite well. If you want a full body workout however, do exactly that. For instance, go to your local gym and sign up for a class such as areobics or a combat related class such as karate or boxing. Either will give your body a very good workout and train your combat skills in case you are attacked. Its a win win situation. Just dont exercise for more than three hours a day, an hour or even a thirty minute one is perfect, as long as you work hard. Good luck.

This can work your abs plus increase your heart rate which burns calories. So if you are trying to gain weight you should increase your calorie intake to offset the Cal's that you burned.
When exercising focus on your breathing.
Think of inhaling into the lower rib cage on both sides as well as your back. When you exhale think of pressing your navel down to your spine, but don't use your but when you do that. You want to keep your back in it's normal neutral position.

no . crunches are better, i would do hula hooping just for fun, b/c it's not a real work out. i do love hula-hoopin though, i did it for 1/2 an hour straight once. what can i say, i am amazing~

yeah its great :) but you might also want to try out a few different ab rountines... because... different parts of the abdomen needs different kinds of excercise to strengthen them... good luck:)
