Depends if your talking about a "guy/boy" or a "man". Most men look for woman that are real. Ones that are comfortable with themselves. They also find education, independence and honesty to be a turn on. A small amt of nervousness, or shyness can be attractive at first......but, most men tire of it quickly. Of course, if he is only looking for sex......none of the above applies.

Yes. If there is one thing that most guys don't like at all it's the crazy girl that is all in a panic. They want a girl that is much more level headed.
So you have to take a big deep breath, or three....and be yourself.

There is no way to know for sure because everyone is different, but he probably takes it one of two ways. 1) He may think it is adorable that you get nervous around him because you like him or 2) He may see it as lack of self-confidence because you are not able to be yourself around him. Just try to be calm around him, and remember you may really like him but in the end he is human just like everyone else, so there is no need to feel intimidated or shy. Even if you feel shy just play it off, and eventually you'll feel more comfortable around him.

I see what you mean, as a friend you should be yourself because he might feel the same way towards you so just be yourself and everything will be alright!
