Does height matter in a relationship?

Hey all, I've been thinking about this a lot lately. I'm 17 years old, and about 5' 6". I have tall brothers, tall grandparents, and short parents. Sadly, I'm (obviously) a lot shorter than most guys, the majority of my friends being 5'10+ minimum. I really like this one girl, but she is maybe one inch taller than me, 5'7". When I hang out w/ her it feels extremely obvious that she is taller than me, and it's all I can think about.

Now I know a lot of girls are attracted to tall men, so am I really at a disadvantage? The girl I like used to like my friend who is like 5'11", so whenever I'm with her all I can think about is wishing I was a bit taller. Someone help me with my paranoia!

Don't listen to the bit*h who said it does matter. Bottom line is if a girl would not like you because you are shorter than her than f*ck her. You are not even that short, the majority of females are like 5/3-5/6 anyway so dont worry. If you like this girl, really like her, than dont worry. You must show confidence though and that will make you stand proud, which could make you look tall in her eyes. Good luck!

It really depends on what kind of person u are and what kind of person she is...have u ever asked her:Do taller men attract u. U probably will get a different response from her than other girls. But 2 me height doesn't matter the only thing i care about is the person's personality and how they react 2 certain things(humorous, attractive etc.).

Personally, it does matter to me, I like tall men I'm 5'5. If she likes you for you then who cares go for it. But if your height is a problem for her then you should move on and find someone else.

My sister is 5 ft.Her husband was 6' 3".she weighed 114lbs,he weighed 268 lbs.They were married 39 yrs.He died 2 yrs.ago.
So height made no difference there.

Geez look at Tom Cruise and alot of other celebs.
My husband is about 2 inches shorter than me, and yes I did prefer tall men, but in the long term, height really is'nt that big a deal. And any girl who is confident in herself will have no problem dating a shorter guy, and the same goes for your confidence in being with a taller woman.
I am 5'8 and my husband is 5'6, and if I wear flats and he wears sneakers no one even notices a difference, and we just joke about it and he will stand up on a curb sometimes and pretend, and it is just no big deal, so go for it. Tall chicks rock !

This only matters if the height difference is large. Like you being 5'7 and her being 6'5. I must say though, if she is into you and you are into her it shouldn't matgter at all.

with different people there aredifferent interests i cant answer for every person on the planet thats impossible but i cangive you my ideal dream msan sorry im in to tall thick men and as for this girl the only thing you can do is ask her out on a date she doesnt take the offer then move on there are plenty of fish in the sea and mebe 1milliion of them are into in my oppinion short men but go for it ask this girl ut be brave almost every wemon loves a man that knows how to handle him self and has confidence beleive in your self thats what i have to say.p.s. your not short to all only some besides it only matters what you think beleive in yourself and you will find a very special someone.

sounds like you're lacking some confidence, the one thing that will make her forget you're one inch shorter than her. A girl will like someone despite height if they are a really good match otherwise.

Women tend to like taller men, but if you have a good personality and a lot of women like men for who they are and if you meet a woman's standards for personality and how you treat her, it doesn't matter how tall you are, as long as you treat women how they want to be treated.
