I'm an African-American gentlemen that's 24 years of age who seems to get along with other racial groups better than my own. The problem there is that usually girls of other races for the most part do not date outside of their race. The ones who do usually tend to act more like black girls as if they're trying to fit in and they go for the thugs.
The ones who do not go for the thugs or players go for wealth or fame. Same with the majority of black women, the ghetto sista's go for thugs and smooth talkers who don't really give a damn about them and the educated one's go for someone who has a big bank account.
Please keep in mind that I'm talking about most and not all women in major cities Like Los Angeles and New York. Example, I once had this seemingly shy and pretty girl tell me that she was looking for a nice guy who respected her as a woman. She turned me down. The next day a thuggish guy walked up to her a said can a n*gga f*ck? Guess what, they did.
I need answers pronto.

Don't know why that seems to be the case, but it is. There are more immature, insecure young women in this world with self-esteem problems than those who are not. But you probably have much higher standards than that anyway and you may have been saved from a fate worse than death.
Many desirable women are looking for someone just like you to come along -- trust me on this. Just keep livinig!

Alot of women grow up confused, without a dad and have no belief and no trust in men period. They go for these kind of men because they don't feel very good about themselves. Skin color is irrelevant. When I was young, I was so confused about life - not nearly mature enough to meet someone like you. I was once engaged to a decent guy and didn't even know how to behave, then I broke it off. I know I was bad and a total heartbreaker - but the point is - you're much more mature than alot of the people your age and you have a good head on your shoulders. Don't forget to use it when making a selection of a girl to try to go for. If you want to find a more mature woman - going to bars or simply on the street will be a rare occasion to meet one. I'd get involved in a charity organization, or large church organization where they do community singles events and such. Chances are you'll meet a woman with a good head on her shoulders who has been waiting for someone just like you. Okay, so I grew up - and ended up marrying for love to a guy who has almost nothing. So, you're positioning yourself for the right things to come your way - just be patient. It will be worth the wait. Anyway, he's the joy of my life - I met him at a church singles group function.

I too live in an area that this seems to be the norm, DC. I am a 25 BLACK WOMAN and do not need a man to take care of me and mines. I perfer a man that is confident, funny, and charming no matter what his profession or income. He should want to be a partner in my life vs taking care of me. Often time we get caught up in material things. And its not worth it. Now the thug issue. I will not lie "nice" guys do come in last. Personally, I do not understand. I perfer a man that can turn it on and off depending on the situation.

Some women are just dumb...maybe you are just going after the wrong type of women. Try dating different types of women and meeting them at different places.
