My sisters cat use to get sores on her head each summer she would have one and it would be full of pus and Ozzy green stuff we took her to the vet and he said it was a corn worm. It was icky but there wasn't anything we could do till the maggot would make its way to the surface then we would kill it.. To make a long story short take it to the vet

If there had been a dead tick there a year ago, the vet would have removed it. Very easy to do. If he had not removed it, it would have fallen off. You need to have another vet look at it! A sore should not be there for a year. It may just be a scar from a fight with another cat or a dog.

Yes, it could be the tick still. I dont get how a Vet would NOT remove the tic in the first place. My answer.. get a new vet!

If you think it might be some kind of worm or larva, you could just cover it with bag balm or Vaseline. If there's something alive in there, it'll come to the surface for air and you can pull it out. If not, the Vaseline/bag balm won't harm the cat any and you should just take it to the vet.

I have a hard time believing it was a tick. Keep a close eye on her. My cat had a small wound on the side of his face that itched every time it started to heal, so he scratched the scab off and made the wound bigger. Soon after he had no skin on that side of his face, and he got gangreen within three weeks. He died a few days later.

You should take your cat back to the vet. If the vet doesn't do anything get a recommendation on a vet from a friend.

Is it painful or bothering her at all? Is it crusty like a scab? The reason I ask is because my dad's cat had the same thing a few weeks ago, and we were keeping our eye on it before calling the vet. He didn't seem all that bothered by it, and within a few weeks it went away by itself. Good luck with the kitty.

Have the cat checked for wolf worm or something like that. I have had a few cats that got this worm and it actually bores around in the host body. It can make some nasty holes and could cause some infection. Good luck.
