lose something significant and you will learn to overcome it, you will realize that it's a fact of life and that by fearing you are going to lose it, you are taking away from the joy it brings while you have it.n whatever "IT" may be

you'll hate this, but put yourself in situations where you may lose and after a few times you will realize it is not the end of the world (call a few companies that you like and ask to set up an appt with their president -- the response is almost guaranteed to be NO, so just do this and get through it and realize that it's OK and sit with the feeling, but be proud of yoursel for going through with it)

truth is, ANYONE who would make those calls would get rejected. and anyone would also be nervous and feel a bit like a loser afterward. you should realize that your fear of losing is normal, and everyone feels the same thing (no one ever LIKES to lose) but despite the fear, most people try anyway, are annoyed (not crippled) when they lose but they try again anyway, beacause afterall, what else are you going to do

so just do it, be strong, and keep in mind teh words of many successful business moguls who say they actually would never hire anyone who had suffered a tremendous loss and recovered from it -- you learn so much when you lose, life is not just about winning. and the more you lose the more you will also win out of life

hope this helps, and that you just go for it (close your eyes and jump off the diving board -- you might land on your face, but you'll fine and eventually master the dive)

Keep trying even though you're scared of losing.

I'm not a competitive person mainly for this reason. Only lately have I steeled my courage to do it anyways. Sometimes I still lose, but I've realised that losing doesn't shatter the world around me. Now that I know that trying and losing isn't so bad, it's worth the risk.

Corny but true: If you don't try you're sure to lose, if you do try at least you have a shot.

I think you overcome the fear of losing... by practicing.

Practicing... and realizing that it is not the loss that will teach you anything. It's what you choose to learn from it.

And... I think that you overcome the fear of losing by refusing to see it as this dark opaque hole but instead as an opportunity to learn something new. Not something to be feared... something to celebrate.

It's tough. But, that's ok, too.

You can work to build up your self esteem and realize that losing isn't the end of the world. You can build up your self esteem by listing off things that you like about yourself.
