I would take him to the vet right away. It could be something major like a heart condition.

my beagle does the same thing sometimes and i asked the doctor that too.. and she said it was common for beagles to do that but not all the time if it presist to visit the vet and it may be a concern but so far it hasn't because it's just once in a while.. but it you are still worried you can go to your vet and ask.

Could be Ashtma. Is this the only time he does it, or does he if he's playing around the house. It could also be any pollen or anything of the sort in the area he's being walked. Try a new area and if it's still happening, see your vet.

Does he pull alot when you are walking him?? How long a walk are you taking? He could be choking himself buy a harness style leash see if this goes away. He could be very thirsty. If these two things are not it I would check with a vet. He could have allergies.

It may be because he has asthma or some type of that, and after walks and exercising, he gets symptoms because he's overworking. Try to walk slower than usual, and see what happens.

How old is your dog? Is your dog overweight? If not overweight, then the wheezing suggests thats all the walking for your dog for the moment.

Do you pull on the leash too hard?
Is he overweight?
