Anyone can win a belt. I could go to a chinese auction and win a belt, so yes, he will.

The belt he held was an interim title and not a world championship. I personally do not think he has what it takes to beat the best, although right now the heavyweight division as a whole has very little competition. Mesi is a B rate fighter at best!

Mesi has suffered two subdural hematomas. He's still not allowed to fight in the States, and I really don't want to see him in against any of the heavyweight champions, nor do I think they would want to fight him either. It's just not safe.
**edit**
Okay, I didn't realize that he was scheduled for a bout in Louisiana, but that was called off due to a hand injury Mesi just suffered in this last bout. I'd still like to see him retire. :)

Well, he 's listed on the card for a 10 rounder on 7/8/06 in Kinder, Louisiana. No opponent named as yet.
He's already fought twice this year, once in Canada and and once in Puerto Rico. I don't know if his Nevada license is still suspended, but it seems he'll be able to fight in the US.

I'm not sure... I'm not too impressed by his fighting, and his fight with Vassili Jirov proved that he isn't anything special (getting knocked down by a cruiserweight).
Will he win another belt? With the current state of the heavyweight division, especially Wlad's glass chin, it's possible.
