You have to go based on the instructions on the package. How many you took for the proper age group and when you took them. Most people like to take them before bed and wake up and be ready to go.

Depends on which laxative you have taken
If an enema , immediate within 10 minutes
Oral laxatives take 6 to 8 hours to be effective

Have you got a bad stomach/constipation, or have you taken them in the form of substance abuse? If it's the former, then you would be better off eating more fruit and veg and drinking plenty of water. If you've taken them for another reason, then you need to get help, eg talk to your doctor, find an online support group etc.

i know kids anal laxatives take 15 - 60 minutes

12-20 hours , in between your in agony . I was binded up I couldn't urinate either , but once I did , it opened me up , some people it takes days , not me I was about to go to the ER. I'm on dialysis too.

Not long, and for goodness sake, NEVER EVER take them when you have a head cold, it is a disaster everytime you sneeze!!!

on the pack of them it should tell you take it at night and by morning it should work
