Generally, if you are a teenager, you should charge $4 an hour plus expenses: $40 per day. If you have to take the child to the movies or pay admission to a pool, the parents should pay both your entrance and the child's. If they don't want to pay extra, even for meals, charge enough to cover expenses. $250 per week, if it's a five day week.

Well - my son is 12 - the only reason he is still going to day care is because he is on swim team & has to be in town for practice - on the days he doesn't have practice, I don't send him to day care - he's old enough to stay home by himself. (We live about 8 miles out of town)

The days when he is at my day care provider's home, she charges me $6.00 per day from 8:30 -5:00.

We live in a fairly small town though - there's really not a lot of extra activities to do ---- So, I don't know if you can actually use mine as a good comparison in that fashion.

You could charge a flat amount per day to have him there / then tell the parent's when he is getting to go on a "field trip" - ask them for extra for those occassions.

Well, even if you go with $4 an hour (which is a reasonable rate), you're going to end up paying $200 a week, assuming that this is a 5 day a week job. You might negotiate to $125 or $150 a week.

I'd charge $35 a day. it's a long day for him and you so you may end up going to more places than you think so it may be more $40. If the parents expect you to take him out to places everyday that you have to pay for him I'd seriously think about what you will be doing and how much it will cost and tell them the price and what they will be getting for their money

6 is NOT afternoon... I say $3 or $4 and hour and make sure you are home on time... I was told that I was only going to babysit that long but the lady didnt come home till 10! she had 3 rambunctious kids... thank god the neighbors were home to help me... but my point is, if you are going to be out late, be sure to call ahead of time.and pay a little extra...

People routinely pay $1000 for day care in a center setting. In a home setting for ten hours a day? I wouldn't do it for less than $40-$50 dollars a day--but a student might.

Day Camp usually runs all day like that for older kids and the price runs from $80 - $140/week. More or less depending on what's included. Like lunch, field trips, etc.

I think if you pay one lump sum and own the child outright that will save problems over ownership later on

the price you pay for a child can depend mostly on things like - how stable they are , health, IQ, obedience, continence etc etc

I hope you forgot the word "child care"! Otherwise it sounds like your selling a child. If you are talking about "childcare" anywhere from $15 to $20.

$100 for the day, plus cost of any expenses incurred. Just a reference. It also depends on the age and experience of your childcare provider.
