It is very clear from the Bible's own testimony and that of Jesus Christ and the old testament prophets that Scripture is to be reguarded as the authoritative word of truth on all matters of basic doctrine. The following is a list of just the most significant verses that support the Word of God's claim to authority.
The grass withers, the flower fades, but the word of our God stands forever.(Isaiah 40:8) All Scripture is enspired by God and profitable for teaching, for reproof, for correction, for training in righteousness; that man of God may be equipted for every good work 2 Timothy 3:16-17. And there are no other God besides Me, a righteous God and a savior; there is none except Me.(Isaiah 45:22 . See also Exodus 24:12, 2 Samuel 23:31, Pslam 12:6; 111:7-8; 93:5;119; Proverbs 30:5; Daniel 10:21; Mark 12:24 13:31; John 8:31-32; 1 Corinthians 2:13; 1 Peter 1:23-25 and 2 Peter 1:20.

Religous belief of any kind stems from the need to explain the unexplainable. It's part of the human condition. We come up with questions that continually exceed our ability to answer. But we are a proud species. Rather than admit that we don't know, we inject mysticism and faith in place of an answer. An example; Why don't rocks breathe? Because that's the way God made them. Passing this along through the generations engrains the belief system in the psyche. Don't worry though. We will never outgrow this condition in our lifetime so let the arguements continue!! It's how we all learn about eachother.

Romans 1:19-20 You should read the entire chapter.
The Bible [KJV] has many proofs within itself such as fulfilled prophecies,[more than 300 relating to Jesus Christ alone],historic events that were made known hundred's of years prior to there occurrence. Science has tried to explain things in a natural way leaving GOD out of it, but they stumble having eliminated the correct answer before they started. Gen 1:1 In the beginning GOD created the heavens and the earth.....

-Because this world is designed, and design needs a designer ("The heavens declare the glory of God and the firmament showeth His handiwork" Psalm 19:1)
-His Holy Word, The Bible, was written over a very long period, most of the authors were not contemporaries of one another or got to speak to one another, but the Bible is still without contradiction. It has to be inspried by God. (All scripture is given by inspiration of God..." 2 Timothy 3:15)
-The Ressurection of Jesus Christ which was witnessed by many
-The fact that I speak to HIm every day.

I believe in God because it is logical. Since I think that the "big bang" is completely silly, it only stands to reason that God made the universe and everything in it.

Out of fear of the unknown.

Parents put the fear of god in their children, because they don't have the know how to bring kids up with respect for all living beings. They feel if they threaten children with the fear factor, when they go astray, parents don't have to blame themselves. Thus, we end up living in a just society......I guess we are still waiting....how long has it been now?

Jesus came here to free us from religions, He wanted us to have a personal relationship with God.

We keep the Bible as the center of our learning.

We want to be with God after we die.

God gives us hope.

The Bible teaches us to have a life changing relationship with God.

Without God we are nothing.
