most brand vitamins are o.k. just check to make sure that you are taking them at the right time of day
make sure your not getting to much of a vitamin such as vitamins a or k which have serious side effects in excess
also check the solublity of vitamins, absorption(fast, slow) etc.
high endurance or marathon runners need to be more careful as the very sports they are involved in can cause problems with thier bodies other than just vitamin defiecencies such as with women high stress exercise can put enough stress on you to make you temporarily amenoric, loss of calcium stress fractures
this inculdes men as well you should look into consulting a sports medicine professional and/or a nutritionist

I agree with sunnybunnychic667. If you don't have chronic health problems that unresovlable with diet changes, and you eat well regardless, and you excercise regularly, I suggest trying a day or two without them and noticing if there are any changes. If not, then you probably don't need them. If so, go to a nutritionsit first with your vitamin product and ask them if a change in diet could replicate the same effects that you get from the pills. It will probably be still less expensive. Vitamins are good to keep around until they expire or you really do have an extenuating circumstance like sickness or injury that you need quick relief on. Even then you can eat the right foods in certain combination to get better. When everyone I knew got the flu this past winter, and I'd already had mono and strep and was battling w/ candida (which i'm over now) I was sure I'd get the flu as well. And I did. My doctor prescribed a 70 dollar flu medicine that would only ease the pains and instead I ate turkey soup with peppers, ginger, and lemons (and drank lots of tea with emergencee)for as many days as she prescribed the shortest time for recovery from it (5 days), while my husband who did neither and only ate what I was eating sometimes had his drag on for weeks. Try Prescription for Nutritional Healing. It's an excellent resource that is worth more than it costs (its not cheap but once you own it you dont have to buy it again) as it tells you what vitamins to take to supplement food choices and herbal remedies to get you back in health no matter what you've got. It's also candid in saying you still have to go to the doctor and take real medicine sometimes, so it is a reliable and non-biased goldmine!

To be fair, the Republican Congress wouldn't pass any of the Clintons' (because both of them were at it) health care initiatives. They had no real effect on the cost of your health care back then, Congress did. Not that I believe it would have been much better if Clinton had gotten something passed; but still... But I will give you Democrats ask for money all the time, both in donations and in taxes. Unfortunately, Republicans do the same. Republicans like to talk a lot about lowering taxes. And for the record, they do. To corporations. But neither the Democrats nor the Republicans lay off the poor. Republicans help the corporations and Democrats get everybody; but the poor are always screwed. C'est la vie. Add-on: In terms of my economic class, I am right at the poverty line. I live pretty decently because I live by myself and conserve everywhere that I can. All I know is that the last year Bill Clinton was President, I got back $450 in federal taxes. This past year of 2007 I wound up owing $1049 in taxes. Maybe some people's taxes went down. But I lived the exact same way and made the same money I did that year (I got a new job, had to go back down to the same pay as I had then because of the economy); and I had to PAY money instead of getting some back. Maybe some people's taxes went down, but not mine. And this economy made it much harder to pay for it because I have to pay more for everything else. It's been nearly 8 years since Clinton; Bush can't blame him anymore for this economy.

Yes. you are wasting money. If you feel you need a vitamin there is no place that will charge you more than a gym or health club. Go Wal-mart! It's where America shops!

Since you have healthy eating habits, you don't need the 3000% of the vitamins that you pee out every day. As long as you have a lot of colors on your plate with the fruits and vegetables, you're fine.

There are no vitamins that exist by themselves in nature. Therefore, I opt for wholefood products, Body-Balance, Seasilver, etc. Mother Nature seems to know the right vitamins, in the right combination.

there have been many studies that prove that taking vitamins don't have any significant if any benefits for ones health..So in my personal experience i think that you are throwing money down the drain, however if you feel that you need to take vitamins get store-brand names they are have the same active ingredients.
