The crux of the matter is: how to live your life with least amount of resistance, walk the groove of life without being affected/or drawn into the vortex of whirlwind of things around you and yet remain focussed on why you are the blessed soul with an ability to achieve enlightenment. One that was achieved by Jesus, Mahavir, Buddha and all the lives that come in human form and strive not only to make sense of their life but live a path for others to follow. Bhagvad Geeta is a discourse between Lord Krishna to his beloved and faithful friend Arjuna.

I read it. I was 15 and was searching. A lot of it makes perfect sense just like Proverbs. When they start talking about a planet of milk and honey and the Hari Chrishna people started calling me using some cult tactics to pull me in, I backed away very slowly.
I did like the story about the beautiful woman. She had a suiter who came to ask to marry her. She said come back a little later. I can't remember how long she said. During that time she fasted and put her waste in some vats that she put in a shack outside. When the suiter came back, she looked very skinny and hadn't put on any makeup. He asked, "Where is that beautiful woman I wanted to marry?" She said, "She's out in the shack in the vats."
