He did not come here to write a book. He came here to full fill the Old Testament Prophecy, and to save us so we do not have to be separated from God after we die.

Books in those days were handwritten,
and then hand copied.
This means, very few manuscripts were copied or survived the many wars.
In Europe, the center of western culture, mass publishing did not start until the invention of the printing press in 1453.
The other question is:
Was Jesus literate enough to know how to write. His strenght was philosohpy and verbal entertainment.

Many people believe that Jesus did write down many of his teachings because it was customary at the time to do that. However, where they are and what happened to them are still a mystery. They may be hidden somewhere, they may be in the Vatican somewhere being suppressed by the Catholic church because they are affraid of what is written there, or they may have been destroyed at some point. Chances are though that they did exist at some point and maybe they still do!!! The world may never know.

actually there is some evidence of writings written by jesus. The Q documents are suspected to be written by Jesus or written at the direction of Jesus(like a secretary jotted down as he was talking). But the authenticticy isnt determined.

and to the ppl who said jesus wasnt real...u stupid, there are many documents that track a man named jesus of nazarath, there is no doubt he existed, the only doubt can be if he was godly or not. (which he was, imo and the opionion of christians)

Considering that books weren't commerically printed until the late 1400's, or 14 centuries after Jesus' death, I think that it would've been difficult for any book written by Jesus to make the best-seller lists.

fact is..JESUS DID EXIST..God is the true author of the Bible..
God is Three in One..that's why we have the Holy Trinity..The Father, Son, and Holy Spirit..And who's the Son? Jesus!! The Lord used different people to write what He wanted to say..

Oh yeah..before I forget..

According to statistics..The Bible is a real best-seller..

Maybe he didn't know how to write?

GOODNESS Gracious , who here really thinks that JESUS himself wrote the bible? Someone please clue in one of the posters below that the new testament was written 60 to 100 years at least after Christ DIED. AND someone tell her the old testament, otherwise known as the Jewish Bible was written a few thousand years before Jesus' BIRTH......

Jesus didn't exist.

Because he knew his actotles would write about him. He is more of the word of mouth type. Technically, he did help write the New Testament.
