For some, this is a big game to mess around in. Sometimes they make me laugh so I can't judge them. Others take it more seriously and try to hold to a standard of excellence in their answers. For some, this is a video game and they want to get high score. For others, points don't matter. Besides, well-formed answers picked as best get you points quicker than random hits. To see who the power players are, review the questions and answers of the people who give great answers or who ask great questions. Birds of a feather flock together. We have to stick together, you know. The way I see it, this is a great place to have intelligent interchanges with people of like mind. If we keep up the higher standard, others will join us.

Well there can be many reasons.. some may just want the points so they give a short sarcastic answer, some like being antagonists and getting under peoples skin and some feel it their duty to attack questions they don't agree with. There is not much tolerance in the world today so I do try to ignore the ones in which don't really have anything valid to say about the question posed.

well if you don't answer it you're using the comment "ignorance is bliss" but if someone insult's soemthing you strongly believe in you can either trun the other cheek or you can stand up for yourself and your views. It can go either way yet if someone wants to attack you for no apparent reason then i see no point, the comments don't make sense. Those types of people are the reason America is turning to crap to fuel the economy and the politics. People very much like my uncle.

Because it's so much easier to rail against someone else and get the points, lol.
Seriously, the only time I attack a question is when I see ignorance spewing from it, and it makes my blood boil.

I attack ONLY when the question is not a question, but a statement of hate or bigotry in the guise of a question...there are no innocents playing games like that! IF a person here makes an outrageous statement that is offensive, they deserve the attack, and more so.

I've wondered the same thing. I think they do it because they can be nasty or cruel and get 2 points for it. I've felt bad for some of the people that really needed help and they yelled at them and call them names.

Why do people attack each other in the real world? Rape, assault, etc... They have psychological issues. Some people feel the need to belittle others to feel good about themselves.
