I recently saw a newscast that said that there is now a Bible out that reads like a novel instead of the basic scripture. Does anyone know where I could get a copy of this "new" Bible? I'm very interested in seeing how it matches up with the Bible we're all used to reading. Thanks!

There is one...I think it's called "The Message" Bible. Personally I'll stick with my New King James Version.

Here is a link explaining the "Message" Bible. http://www.biblegateway.com/versions/?action=getVersionInfo&vid=65

They also have a list of alot of different versions there as well.

The Message Bible. I have many kind of Bibles and even though the message is the same, different Bibles use slightly different words. I bought the Message Bible on CD, and I enjoy it so much. Listening it is very easy and you can listen Bible through while you work, walk, do household things, sun tan etc. It uses contemporary language, and it makes it sound like a any thriller, or novel etc. I even found it funny. For example...Instead of saying "Jesus casted out demons" it says.."Jesus sent daemons packing"

Perhaps it was a new book by Gene Edwards, author of the popular religious book entitled ‘The Divine Romance’. This new book is entitled “The Story of My Life as told by Jesus Christ” and contains every verse of the four gospel accounts in narrative form taken from the “New Living Translation Bible” by Tyndale. Edwards, a prolific Christian author has also penned similar books such as ‘Acts in First-Person,’ ‘The Day I was crucified,’ ‘The Timothy Diary,‘ and a host of other “spiritual” novels based on a historical and Biblical pattern. His web site is www.seedsowers.com. There you can read Chapter One of this book and most of his offerings free of charge. Good website for many "deeper life" books by various authors. Personally I've never cared much for Gene's writings, but that many do, is evidenced by his large following and I would guess, large bank account as a result of his long, distinguished career as a popular Christian author, speaker and pastor.

The Message by Eugene Peterson. It definitely shouldn't be the only version you read, but I have found it to be very helpful. I did have to laugh because he uses the word "roadkill" in the David vs. Goliath story, and I suspect that is a rather loose interpretation :)

From what I've seen, people either love it or hate it. I'm one of the former.

there are plenty of modern english bibles out there that are perfectly comprehendable. go up to a shelf, pick one you can read and there you are.
