For all you folks who are under the impression that *all* cancers are not contagious, remember HPV, which is clearly the number one cause of cervical cancer. There may be others, where science has not uncovered the association as yet. Clearly not near all cancers are "contagious", but some are.

Your husband is probably referring to the toxoplasmosis, which, when infecting a pregnant woman, can cause some pretty severe birth defects in the developing fetus.

That's a new one on me!

As far as I'm aware, cancer is not catching, and I wouldn't have thought that poop would carry it, but as I'm not a doctor, vet or scientist, I'm not 100% certain of that!

Cat poop can carry all sorts of other things though, including catching things, hence you should always clean up cat poop in it's tray or around the house regularly - this includes worms, hepatitis (if the cat has it), and a variety of other things.

Try the link below if you want to know more about what you can catch from your cat!

Toxoplasmosis is what cat poop can carry. However if you are pregnant, you just do not scoop the litter box. You do not have to get rid of the cat.
Cancer is NOT contagious!!!!!

Hmmms...first of all "NO!"...I don't think anything "carries" cancer, per se; it is not a contagious disease. However there is a virus cat feces can carry, which is dangerous to pregnant women. I forget the name of it. You might want to google it if you are expecting, or expecting to be expecting, lol.
