In what ways?

According to a Drug Enforcement Agency report in the aftermath of the North American Free Trade Agreement, which further opened U.S. borders to cargo traffic, federal officials estimated that most cocaine coming into the U.S. entered through official ports of entry, occasionally with the collusion of corrupt customs agents.

What will happen to all the drug dealers and corrupt customs officials? Will they just go away?

No, but building a gigantic steel renforced concrete wall with pill boxes, machine guns, barbed wire, landmines, and cow stoppers that completely wraps th entire mainland, Alaska, and Hawaii from any bordering nation or even territory, pouring agent orange all over any domestic growth and possesions, dragging around drug sniffing dogs to check out incoming flights and their luggage, and supplying every addict in the country with 'Soft Peter', then we might almost cut the problem into a third.

Now how in the hell could the DEA know that when they don't know how much is undetected going thru official points of entery & certainly not how much is going thru the rest of the border. That's an unknowable number.

If you close the border it would obviously force more traffic thru the official entery points. Certainly we can't catch everything, but the percentage will be much stronger & the Coast Guard will be much busier on the high seas. Corrupt agents should be prosecuted to the fullest extent of the law. Especially in border drug enforcement, we need to be setting a good example for our neighbors.

Have you seen on the news where they have a warehouse of drugs and weapons that they have confiscated just from the Mexico border crossings? It is amazing. So yes it cost them money and it will slow them down. And we need to stop what we can. When does we can't stop them all make sense to not try at all.?

You are VERY STUPID !!! I did NOT fall for all this "Immigration hype" I see it first hand. Illegal aliens are here taking advantage of free services Americans cannot get. They flood hospitals in Los Angeles, and they do not pay for their medical care. I know, I worked in a hospital in Long beach, California for 2 years. Why don't you open your eyes and see that American is being taken over over by these Mexican criminals????

They will never close the border, because Bush doesn't want to hurt V. Foxes feelings, instead They will build a super highway to let them in.

I TRULY BELIEVE THAT THE DRUG TRAFFIC WILL TAKE A HARD HIT. THE DRUG LORDS, HOWEVER, HAVE GREAT CONTROL OVER MANY IN ALL THE GOVERNMENTS, INCLUDING OURS, SO THEY WILL EVENTUALLY FIND A WAY.

IT WOULD BE NICE TO MAKE IT MORE OF A CHALLENGE FOR THEM. AT THIS POINT, BECAUSE OUR BORDERS ARE EASILY PENETRATED, IT'S A PIECE OF CAKE FOR THEM TO RUN DRUGS INTO THE U.S.
