No, muslims are from everywhere. There are muslims of every race. There are caucasion muslims that were born in the U.S. and live in the U.S. and possibly your neighborhood. My muslim friend in high school was from Indonesia.

Mohammed, the founder of Islam, lived in Arabia, not the area that is now Iraq.

Stereotypes

Often caricatures about Muslims alienate Christians from Muslims. Some examples are:

"Almost all Muslims are Arabs and all Arabs are Muslims."
Truth: Only about 15% of Muslims are Arabs; and there are millions in Arab countries who are Christians or Zoroastrians.

"All Muslims are violent, support terrorism, and believe in old-fashioned legal codes."
Truth: Muslims are not all violent, but have the same range of personalities and weaknesses as any group; most Muslims reject mindless violence, but approve of struggling for liberation if they are oppressed.

"Arab countries have the highest Muslim populations."
Truth: The countries of Southeast Asia - India, Indonesia, Pakistan and Bangladesh actually have the largest Muslim populations.

I am not a muslim, I am a Christian of the denomination of the Lutheran Church - Missouri Synod
