Couple of ways you can make yourself and your whereabouts available to others. One way is to use the site Classmates.com This will be an easy way for people you went to High School, College, and/or the Military to look you up. Another way would be to create a Web Site with your name. The web site idea is a little involved but not all that difficult. You can create free sites at a lot of different places including here at Yahoo but you have to do a little research.
