I've been seeing this guy for the past couple weeks. We are part of a team (type doesn't matter), that meets weekly and everyone pretty much knows each other. We hang out, drink, etc. After this guy and I had our first "encounter", I asked him how we should act when we see each the following week and he asked that I keep it private because he doesn't like everyone knowing his business. I am respecting his wishes, but it's very difficult because one other person on our team is a co-worker of mine, and is trying to get the two of us together because we appear to be compatible. My co-worker sees us getting along well, chatting, etc when we're all out.

Has anyone ever heard of a guy wanting to keep things low-key like this at the beginning, only to then be OK with people knowing, or is this an indicator that he is a) weird, or b) hiding me?

I can understand him being this way, because sometimes it is best to keep things low key. I say this because when too many people know ur business they will add, subject and multiply it, maybe something happen in his past that cause him to be this way.

So I don't blame him for not wanting his business out, people will want to know things that just none of they're business.

And also he could have something to hide, U just never know unless u pay close attention

Is he married? In a relationship? Maybe he thinks it would be awkward with you both being on the same team. I'd ask him why he wants to keep in on the down low. He might have a very good reason for not going public.

Do you really want to know the truth? Anyone who does not want to acknowledge what the two of you share in public is really trying to hide this "relationship." Evidently, there is someone else that he could be talking to or he could be hiding you.
