Seems logical doesn't it? I am not religous, but by following the teachings of Christ as it is conventionally known, I would say a big fat no. I'm sure a good Christian as well as a person with commen sense would reply with this: Good actions lie not in the result, but the intention. When you mean to do good, you are doing good. That may go ary, in which case you f'd up. But the Romans did not wish to do any good, therfore they are owed no welcome. It is like saying we should thank the Nazis for giving all those pesky Jews some appreciation for life (I apologize, please take that into context). According to God's plan they were pawns anyway right? It is the free will that matters. Jesus could have escaped, performed a miracle and poof! Point is, Jesus had the will to die for us, the Romans had the will to just kill him and get him out of the way. I don't beleive in Christianity, but these seem like real life logical answers. Correct me if I am wrong.
By the by... if you're just trying to make a point, point taken, but it can be smashed easilly. Keep in mind that religion is not falsifiable, meaning whatever you attack them with they will reply with "God wills it" or something of that nature. So, we should go in the direction of... inconsistencies, translations, things that cannot really be explained by taking the "God excuse", but rather a physical, real one.

Our priest many years ago made the same point in religious class and pointed out that anybody who did not like Jews was a sinner due to the fact that Jesus had been a Jew (and technically still was at the time of his death!). It was the Romans who actually killed Jesus. While I am not a Jew, I have always admired their beliefs and their quest for the Nation of Isreal.

I never thought of it that way, very clever. I think that we should follow the most important commandment, the one that says love your neighbor. I don't remember Jesus saying love your neighbor except for the Romans and Jews. Of course why would he say that, Jesus was Jewish after all. Anyway, you posed an interesting question. Thank you.

The notion that Jesus died for someone 's sin is not from bible..... otherwise Bible will not be preaching to people to do good, as the sins are already forgiven, or paid for.
If Jesus would have died for anyone sins.... He would have said " go my children and commit as much sins as you can, as I already paid for all the sins you commit"
So get up and work for your own salvation.

NOPE. just because they fulfilled prophecy, that does not make them praiseworthy. Maybe we should throw a party for Judas while we are at it. for sure he died for us, but it was because of wicked men that is was done. If Satan had not have tempted Eve, their would not have been any need for his coming and sacrifice. Hey, maybe we should include Adam and Eve in our thank you party too while we are at it. Get the point? I know where you are coming from. We just can't praise sinners or murders even if something good comes of it.

No, we should thank God for sending His only begotten Son so that we could have everlasting life and we should thank Jesus for agreeing to die for our sins....and no we are not off the hook when we sin (we are accountable and there are conseqences). ...The Bible I read doesn't say that Jesus went kicking and screaming. He never raised His voice to anyone of His accusers...He WILLINGLY layed down His life for you...you better recognize!

Everyone is guilty of putting Jesus on the cross to die for our sins.then rise again on the third day.No the world's sin required Him to pay the price for forgiveness and salvation. If a person rescues an Evil person from danger caused by their evil you don't praise the evil doer for evil done to require the rescue.

We really should be thanking Judas for doing God's work and being the means for Jesus to fulfill his destiny.
Sadly, the Church doesn't see it that way.

The Romans knew how to deal with his type. The were dealing with hydras, Cyclopes, centaurs and the like. They had this guy who was walking around making zombies, performing cannibal rights and now he says he is god? Yeah, the Romans knew how to deal wit dat.
