Why do we care if someone has a $5 flag supporting a favorite team, or that they speak to their grandmas in their native tongue? What do you care? What's all this English only and only wave American flags stuff? Hello, didn't Ferris Bueller have a UK flag hanging in his room, nobody cared then.

yep, it would be preposterous if I cared what flag Ferris Bueller hung on his wall or waved outside at a rock concert.

I don't care.

The problem with the 'English only' and anti-immigrant sentiment goes against everything this country is SUPPOSED to stand for.

I was under the impression that America embraced diversity. I was under the impression that diversity is part of what made America so great.

Yet we have this group of people, that forget that they or their ancestors were too once immigrants. Unless of course they are part of the native peoples of this land that were slaughtered and forced to assimilate into the 'foreign' invaders culture. ...But anyway...It is worrisome to me that tax dollars are being spent on blatant bull s h i t!!!

First the President wants the national anthem, which may I remind people was written by a drunken Briton, to be sang in English....I'm curious to know exactly HOW MANY AMERICANS KNOW ALL THE WORDS to the NATIONAL ANTHEM.

Now we have, FEDERAL, STATE AND LOCAL officials trying to make English the official language.

You know what my response is to that...

beso mi culo! kus mijn ezel! beije meu burro! baci il mio asino!!!

Kiss my A S S!!!!

Give me back my tax dollars until you can find something legitimate to spend my dollars on.

....Ok! I'm done with my rant

If you know they are doing it because of the world cup, why does it bother you.
ferris bueler was a fictional character in a movie. Please learn to distinguish between reality and fantasy. The Dukes of Haazard had a confederate flag on the side of their car, and people didn't care. You know why, because people understood that it wasn't real life.
People don't care if they speak to their mamas or poppies in their native tongue. They do care if they go the bank and can't communicate with the teller because they don't understand english.

There is nothing wrong with it. In America people do the same when their team is in the playoffs whether it be baseball, football, hockey, or basketball. In most of these countries soccer is not just a sport it's a way of life, and most importantly it is one of the highest senses of national pride. Yea they live in America and I can guarantee that they are just as proud if not even more proud of that fact, but you can't except people to forget were they came from. It's a part of who they are.

Well.. If you're of Irish Descent and you wear green on St. Patricks day... does anyone get upset b/c you're flaunting your ethnicity?

Or if you're wearing a union jack dress... does anyone go... OMG you're sooo Anti-American?

No... you know why? b/c those people are white...

But the moment some one sees a foreign flag... it's all about Anti-America... Americans are a collaborative people, meaning although we are American Citizens, we also have our ethnicity and our lineage... Having pride in your nationality or ethnicity is not Anti-American,

We all came from somewhere and there is nothing wrong with supporting where you came from. Its the same if you go from state to state. If you move to California but your a New York fan, there is no law that says you can't cheer for NY. Its all good, people should worry about more important things.

They are rooting for their favourite soccer teams to win the world cup. I personally don't see a problem with that. My Son loves his country (- which didn't make it to the World cup this year -but is rooting for a different country to win the cup. Besides, isn't it the sames as rooting for your favourite team to win the Stanley cup?
