I don't care what race their are if they are breaking the law they can expect many to be angry.
Laws are for a purpose and many agree with them.

It seems like the politicians are honing in on some people's predjudices and creating an "issue" out of it for thier own gain. Think about it Bush needed a winning Conservative topic, to keep people away from thinking about the quagmire in Iraq and Katrina neglect.
The history of the U.S. is riddled with hostility to various immigrant groups--though only during certain waves of immigration.
Until the post-Civil War period, the U.S. had no immigration laws. The racist Chinese Exclusion Act of 1882--passed after an industrial strike wave--was part of an attempt to craft a deliberate immigration policy of keeping out “undesirables.”
In the early 1900s, a wave of anti-Japanese violence led to a 1907 agreement barring Japanese laborers--a deal made after newspapers like the San Francisco Chronicle warned of an invasion of "bumptious, disagreeable and unreliable" Japanese.
The U.S. carried out mass deportations of Mexicans during the Great Depression, and in a 1954 program actually called Operation ******* in 1954. Today, both documented and undocumented immigrants in the U.S. face the uncertainty of random raids and deportations, the threat of separation from their families and increased exploitation on the job.
[ thats Operation W etback] such a racist name, a true name, that answers.yahoo.com censors it... It is racism.
And forget about all men being “created equal. Under an April 29, 2003 Supreme Court ruling, even legal immigrants don’t have the same due process rights as citizens. “Congress may make rules as to aliens that would be unacceptable if applied to citizens,” then-Chief Justice William Rehnquist declared in upholding a law permitting the federal government to detain immigrants indefinitely if they have been arrested and convicted of a crime.

It become the present amnesty bill that were given issues all started. the federal authorities using the testimony of favourite human/drug smugglers to convict some border brokers has helped bypass issues in the anti-unlawful route as we. yet, the component that i imagine drove extra people than something into the argument become the demonstrations. i do not understand if it become careful digicam placement or if the images appropriately depicted how a lot of those people were wearing Mexican flags, yet i understand assorted those who i'd have sworn couldn't care a lot less previously they said those pictures, that now favor all illegals deported. They continually factor out the Mexican flags they said those people waving round at the same time as they talk about it too.

I don't see it as being a focus just on Mexicans.
Anyone that comes to this country illegally has broken the law. The laws need to be enforced period, no matter what country they were born in.
I would love to see the United States put into effect the very same laws that Mexico has for those found within its borders illegally, see the same approach taken as they are doing upon their own southern borders, their approach to those within their country on visas.
But when a country is handing out medical treatment for free, food stamps, education, etc for free with no enforcement - is it any wonder that there IS a problem? It doesn't take a rocket scientist to figure out such......

racism, some people want it to remain middle class white america. The other groups just want to make a better life for their kids.
I recently had work done on my home, many of the contractors used Mexican labor. These people are very hard workers. They work hard and never get ahead. I'm sure contractors pay them below minimum wage. I don't understand how people complain about them not paying taxes.
Purplewings- what jobs are being lost to immigrants? Contractors are exploiting them so are many others. That is one of the reasons they came out to protest.

I think people tend to focus on Mexicans because they are so flagrantly arrogant about it. They are upset because the American people are tired of supporting them with food stamps, welfare and other government services that they don't pay in to.
What they did May 1st made them look like they did not want to assimilate but take over. Who's flag did they wave? They demand rights they don't have. That is why people focus on Mexicans. That day they hurt their cause much more than they helped it. I am glad that they made people wake up.
Gaby R, you think you are cute with your little post in Spanish, insulting the person who asked a simple question and the usual intelligent Mexican behavior...calling names and just being stupid. Go to another site with that if you aren't willing to speak the language here.

It is not racism. It has to do with the fact that illegals are predominantly Mexican. It's too easy to scream racism to try to shut people up. Everytime someone says something you don't like they're racist. Everytime someone says you have to pay taxes they're racist. It's ludicrous. BTW, most people who are against illegal immigration are against ALL illegal immigration. If the vast majority were Canadian we would be complaining about them.

Illegal anyone does not belong here! It's only that there are so many mexicans here that the focas seems to be on them. I think it wouldn't be such a big deal if they would just learn english & get a working visa! I wouldn't go to Italy & only speak english! People are just tring to see what they can get away with anymore. JUST DO THE RIGHT THING!

Racism, hell, it's a war zone. The peeps answering you don't even know the meaning of immigration; it's a game; entertainment for most of them. Or, did you answer your own question, so you can speak for American me; what are your points good for anyway?
PS: Play with the big boys; they will tell you were not born of your mother, but defacated of your father.

YES IT IS!!!!! And I do not care what other people say. If it was a border issue, immigration issue, etc, then Mexico/Mexicans would be left out of the debates, concerns, etc.

No I don't believe that for a minute. I think people are concerned about paying higher taxes to cover the cost of having all these people here; and of losing their own jobs - they are also concerned about the crime rate rising due to people without work or homes wandering the streets.
