I have a 3 yr old female pittbull. She has always slept in the bed with me since I got her, she was just 10 weeks old. Then a year and a half ago my bf and i started living together, and she still continued in the bed. We now have a daughter whos a month old, and she sleeps in the bed as well. Now with the 4 of us its just way too much, and we don't want to move the baby out cause it makes nursing so much easier throughout the night hours. Not only is there not enough room, i also want her out for sanitation reason. I dont want the baby near her hair and dander. does anyone have any suggestions?

Close your bedroom door, or put mouse traps on your bed. It doesn't hurt your dog, it just alarms them. Some don't agree with this method, but I swear it does not hurt. It works!

The way I trianed my dog not to be on my bed is every time I saw her on the bed I told her to get off, Some times i have had to take her off and say NO. The only time the dog should be on your bed is when the dog is invited up. As for your daughter, she should not be in the bed with you either. There are too many dangers that could happen. From a young age your daughter should be sleeping in her own bed. You and your boyfriend could fall asleep and roll over on her and smother her. I have heard of it happening many times. The best way to nurse is to get up and sit in a chair or a rocking chair, then when the baby is done, put her in the crib.

You shouldn't have your child nor your dog in your bed. Only time will tell but your child will never want to sleep in his/her own bed or room for that matter. My dad has yound kids again with his new wife they are 9 and 4 and both have slept in the parents bed since they were born, so now neither will sleep throughtout the night in the own beds. Stop this non-sense while you can! I have children of my own both under 5 and nursed through each of them being 1 year old. Yes it is a pain in th a@@ to get up for feeding in the middle of the night day after day to take care of your child but some things you just have to do as a mommy. I too have a pit bull and a heeler and still to this day both my dogs sleep either outside or on the floor by my bed but not in it. My husband and myself enjoy our free time from our kids and our pets not lounging on us. It is great! You have to train your dog to sleep on the floor. Maybe your scent will help, give your dog an old shirt that has yor scent and train him/her to sleep on the floor, in a crate, outside, along side of your baby's bed on the floor. Dogs are generally clean animals, especially inside dogs. You will love yourself so much more when you can roll in your bed alone or by bf and feel no child or animal lying between you both.

Buy your dog a dog bed and put it next to your bed. Also unless you want your child sleeping in your room for the rest of your life you may want to consider getting your daughter a bed of her own.

give her your own bed in a separate room and train her by either treats or love for example put her on the leash and calmly say go to bed and walk the dog over to her bed and make her lay down . it may take a while before you can master it without her leash but shell learn that you are happier when she there not in Ur bed and all dogs love it when the owners are happy

Keeping your baby in your bed with you is going to cause severe problems in the future (I guarentee it. It happened with both of my brothers, and many of my friends' siblings who were raised that way ended up the same). I would purchase a crib and keep it close by to the bed.

Your dog grew up in your bed. Why kick your dog out of your bed, when you can save yourself a lot of grief in the future by not letting your baby sleep with you?

Well every time she goes on the bed reprimand her and tell her no eventually she will get the idea that she is not allowed on the bed then at night when she stays off it praise her and give her a treat

First, take a towel and rub it all over yourself...it puts your scent on the towel. Then, gradually move the towel further and further away from you until it's off the bed. Also, you could put a hot water bottle under the towel to mimic your body heat.

well, before i got my cat, the dog was me and my sister's dog, and when my sister wasn't home, the dog would sleep on my bed in my room, and i wouldn't have a problem with it cause I have one of those dogs that doesn't get any bigger, but whenever I didn't want her on my bed, I'll bring her a little pet bed that my grandma bought him, and she'll lay on that cause it's comfortable and had cushion, if you don't have one of those, just get a soft nice blanket lay it on the floor with some pillows, no one uses.
