He wasn't white, that's for sure. Look at people from Israel now (not the ones who came from Europe to repopulate Israel). A good guide to observe is the Palestinians, e.g., Yassar Arafat. He was brown, brown, brown.

As for why Jesus is portrayed as white, can you imagine people in the USA would allow any OTHER sort of image to represent God? For example, if 'massa' even thought Jesus had been Black when he walked the Earth, how could they bring themselves at the same time to enslave the same people Jesus came from?

Scientifically he would have to be the approximate color of a native Indian. Look at the region he came from. What color are the people of the Middle East? There is your answer. There is no way that Jesus could have been white. And if the Bible says that he had bronze skin and white hair, and you believe the Bible, why are you doubting it?

HE was born Jewish so was not a blondie!

How about reading the truth about colour !!!!

All the people on this planet Earth are descendants from the first couple -
Adam and Eve. We are ALL just shades of that same colour !

Hold a sheet of Real White and Real Black paper up against your skin.
I can tell you "for certain" that your skin colour matches neither of these
paper colour samples. We are all "off white - or - BROWN !

WE ARE ALL OF THE SAME COLOUR because we are all indeed
descendants of that couple. Because of protective pigmentation we
are of different shades indeed.

What a beautiful example of how OUR MAKER designed us and built
a protective system into our skins to protect us from the suns rays !

Few people realize that The Bible does not say anything in opposition to
what is referred to as "mixed marriages". This is precisely why.

If "mixed marriages" do not work in our society, as it is today, it is because
of the arrogance of man. To "prove" superiority they often use gross
misinterpretations of Bible passages or misapply a Bible passage to
make it look like it proves them correct.

It looks like all the great artists depicted Jesus as white because they knew the white man would never accept a black or brown Jesus but the black or brown man would accept a white Jesus! My husband saw Jesus before he died and he said Jesus was black. For some reason, most people responded with an embarrassed laugh

Don't let the propaganda fool you. When Jesus walked the earth,It was as a man from the Middle East(African or Arabic). The likenesses are just more delusions of some of our Caucasian brethren to justify greed, war, ascendancy, and their self serving way of doing business.Other races have been known to pull similar stunts for their own benefit. The victors write/rewrite the rules/history.Be informed. Peace.

If you go by archeological evidence of people of the times he would have olive skin, short curly hair and clean shaven (he was a rabbi and rabbi's at the time were forbidden to have long hair and beards). The reason he is portrayed in paintings as a white boy with long hair ect is due to the time of the paintings. Most depictions were done by European aritist (Da Vinci, Michealangelo ect) and it was the time of the renaissance. So he was painted to reflect the time period and whim of the artist (artistic liscense). Since they did not have any "living references".

that's what the prophet Muhammad (peace be uppon him) said:

"There is no prophet between me and him (i.e. Jesus Christ), and he shall descend. So, recognize him when you see him. He is a man of medium height, of ruddy and fair complexion; he will be dressed in two yellow garments; the hair of his head will appear as though water was going to trickle down from it, whereas it will not be wet. He will fight people in the cause of Islam, will break the Cross and kill the swine and will abolish jizyah; and Allah will put an end to all communities in his time except Islam; and he will slay the Antichrist (Dajjal); and he will stay in the world for 40 years; then will die and the Muslims will offer the funeral Prayer for him."

-(Abu Da'ud and Ahmad).

Jesus was a middle east Jew. Racially, he was the same as many present day Israelis and Palestinians. But we'll never know exactly what he looked like. His importance is in his message of peace, understanding, and love. His appearance and race ar not reasons to remember him, accept him or reject him. For Christians, one must follow the example of his life.
