Mohammed's (PBUH) parents died when he was young, and he was raised by his uncle. As his uncle was a pagan, it is likely that his parents were too, although Mecca was a religiously diverse place. There were Jewish and Christian tribes in Arabia at the time of Mohammed, and other tribes that were pagan and some that were Zoroastrian.

Muhammad's father died before his birth and his mother died when he was only six years old. As a young man, Mohammed was exposed to the various sects of Christianity and Judaism. He observed how they were constantly arguing and debating each other. But none was mentioned about his parents religion, so it is definitely safe to believe that they were not muslims since ti was only when Muhammad was 40 years old when he declared that he was chosen by Allah to preach His religion.

There was mention on a certain period that Muslims refer to as "al-Jahilyya" (Ignorance Age). Some of these rituals are: exalting the Kaaba and the Black Stone, pilgrimage to Mecca, fasting Ramadan, dedicating Friday for assembling to worship, and adopting the name "Allah" for God. This is the religion of most arabs before Islam.

To correct the last answer, the family of Muhammad never followed any form of Christianity. The concept of trinity is rejected in Islam because it attributes divinity to a human being, not because Muhammad had some previous grudge against the trinity because of his family.
There were Christians in Arabia, mainly in Medina, who mostly converted to Islam when Muhammad was asked by them to rule as a judge in the city.

they followed a false form of Christianity where the trinity included God the father Jesus the son and Mary the mother, thats why muslims kick so hard against the trinity , because muhammed correctly rejected it, then he went a little far in writing his own holy book.
