Through my reading in Quran, I found two verses [2:65; 5:60] that tell a story about some Jews who tried to hunt whales on a sabbath Saturday and god punished them by turning them into monkies (or apes).

I am a little surprised because this story is just a Jewish folk that never took place and all reputable history books tells it was a myth used to be told by old Jewish people in old ages. Please see:

My question: if all sources say it is just a myth (including Jewish sources), why did the Quran mention it as a true story?

the bible mentioned that the Lord was walking on earth like a pillar of smoke ...................!
and a woman turned into salt....................!
moses splits the sea with his cane...........!
and that God enjoyed the smell of barbecue...................!
I can go on without end .
and what about the miracles of Jesus ?
why do you believe in all the things which were mentioned in the Bible although it contradicts any logic ,and when it comes to Quran you deny that God is capable of doing anything ?

quran has never changed or been even A LETTER CHANGED be4 since Islam came in this world.. god has promised 2 protect it until day of judgement and some muslims have memorized the whole quran by heart and no1 can change the quran because it will be written again with the same exact words for more than 1000 yrs ago ..
yes all the information that are in the quran are all true but the bible and the gospel had some of these info. and stories in these books but as time pass by writers have changed the things inside it..

Well, people may have used this as a story to teach a lesson, but the idea that a lot of these stories may seem mythical and old tales is not the intent. The intent is to learn the morals that come from them - at that time, the Jews had tried to create a loophole in what God had ordered them not to do. Since fishing and business was prohibited on Sabbath, they put their nets out on Friday and picked them back up on Sunday, so as "not to fish" on Saturday, but this was still the same concept - disobedience to God and not believing that He is the All-Seer. However, we do believe the Qur'aan is unchanged and infallible in all aspects, and this not just blind faith - it's stories/scientific and historical info is being proven true everyday. :)

Thats that shows how unreliable the Quran is. ALSO note that "stockholm704" could not be a Christian and claim the Quran is more reliable than the Bible. He's a Muslim trying to put some validity to his errant book.

you should not look to wikipeida because of some of the biast staments and the degree of truth but to turn to the koran if you have anyquestions in your life since it effects people still today. the koran is the real word of god ,while the gospels contirdict each other and were written by people 5 to 10 years after saying they were eye witness statements which were false.

muslims are NOT allowed to even ask their mullas to explain -- off with their heads -- THAT IS TOTAL SUBMISSION as the moon god demon allah demands.
