I don't really understand this question.
I think the most read book of all time was one of the Harry Potter books.
You may be confusing a fact or two. The Bible has more copies in print than any other book, but most people who own them have never even read it from cover to cover. Many have never even opened it. Few know and understand the content beyond what they learn in sunday school.
The quote you give in your question was a deal made between Solomon, son of David and God. When God gave him one wish, he wished for wisdom... and to reward him for his good choice, he also gave him wealth.
How many wives did Solomon have?

The most read book is the Bible, and those words were spoken to us as God's children.

the bible is not a book that has been read... it's been a book studied, in a manner best suited for brain washing. But read from cover to cover as a book is read is a rare thing.

The Bible. The words were spoken by God to the Israelites, through one of the prophets.

I would say it the same book that was most stolen after 911. The Bible.
ty_kinney makes a good point, that sadly, may be true.

The most read book is of course the Bible. And I believe that this is the Devil tempting Jesus in the wilderness.
