More than anything else, find an activity that allows you to spend time with your dad. This creates happy memories and deepens the bond between you to. I know because my dad told me one time that what he really wanted was to spend time with me. from that day on, presents were trips to ballgames, hockey games, movies, out to eat, etc. When my son was old enough, I included him in this, and we actually called the activities "Generations activities." Yes, we did see Star Trek "Generations" as one of the activities. Now that my dad is gone, the memories are happy ones. better yet, my son now takes me to things, and we play golf (badly) together, play horseshoes together, take walks, you name it. He learned how to be a great son from watching my example I suppose. One highlight was going to see Journey last summer together. While the cost is unimportant, the time together was/is priceless. BTW, my daughter and I do the same type things, even planning a day up at Niagara Falls for the coming week. My wife caught on and she does special things with each of them. it is natural for our family to do all kinds of stuff together as well. Well, enough from me, you get the idea. Make up a certificate for a specific activity at a specific time: "This certificate entitle the world's best daddy to a trip for ice cream and stroll along the river with ..." like that. Very thoughtful of you to ask by the way.

I would start off by thinking of what your dad's favorite things are. If he likes to golf, get him some nice golf balls. If he likes movies get him blockbuster gift cards. If he likes to read, get him a gift card to a bookstore. I am not sure how old your dad is, but most dads of any age like this type of stuff.

Good luck!

Somethimg special that only you or someone very close could give him-- like a baseball card of his favorite player as an example. Anyone can buy a tie from a store but if you know something personal that he likes-- that would make the gift very special!

The best thing that you could give your father is ,,, the first thing when you see him in the morning, is to say ' DAD, I LOVE YOU "

He will always remember that... It is also Very Cheap, with Little Effort,,
It will be the most expensive gift that he will get..

Something you'd want if he ends up not wanting it. Something you'd want, if someone was to give it, to you. Something he likes or wants but doesn't have. How about a gift card to his favorite store? You specify the value they're to be. Sears, Walmart, Lowes, OSH, F.Y.R; Java Joint, there are a lot of places to choose from. Even Hollywood Video.

Make him something from your heart for instance take a pillow case color it with crayons and write on it what ever comes to mind, then cover with wax paper and iron it, the crayon will melt and it will permanently stay on. He will treasure it forever! It's inexpensive & unique!

I dunno, what do you think, ask your mom or someone in the family just as close, what he likes that he doesn't have, then go to the mall and search for the perfect gift,or if you really don't wanna burn a hole in your pocket, just make him somethink you think he will like, I'm sure he'll be glad that you were just thinking of his birthday, least you aint forget!
