The Mediterranaean Diet isn't a commerical diet, but it's a way of eating popular in Southern Spain, France and Italy that includes lots of fresh fruits and veggies, whole grains, fish and olive oil. Typically, people in these regions drink a one or two glasses of red wine daily. They also get a good amount of physical exercise on a daily basis. Studies show that this lifestyle is much healthier than the North American way of life, and it's very good for your heart, but it won't neccessarily lead to weight loss- just to health.
