Are you sure that it is your milk supply that has gone way down, or is your son just eating less often for longer periods? That could be the case. If he is satisfied after eating I wouldn't worry about it, but if you are forced to supplement with formula, talk to your doctor. There is a pill called Reglan that helps increase milk supply postpartum.

Are you working and pumping?Sometimes pumping is not as effective as the baby nursing. Mother's milk tea helps increase milk production. It is made by traditional medicinals and contains fennel, anise caraway and nettle. Nursing on the baby's demand and nursing as often as possible will increase milk, as the more the baby sucks the more milk your body willl make. No soda! Caffene not only goes into the milk and baby, but lessens milk supply. Try to get baby to nurse on both sides at a feeding.
Eat well, drink a LOT, and sleep as well as you can. Taking baby to bed and night nursing helps too.

Drink lots of water and nurse more frequently-if you are well hydrated, the more you nurse the more you will produce -drink 8-10 glasses of water per day. Go to the La Leche League website, has great info on nursing.
Good Luck!

Well, my wife had to take a medication that helped her produce more milk, unfortunately I don't remember the name of it, but ask your physician about medications that can help do this.

oatmeal and almonds helped me...oatmeal cookies and granola even, and 1 beer a day...i know it sounds crazy, but the hops are similar to oatmeal, and if you don't drink you can even do a non alcoholic beer
