I don't know about OTC medicine, but freezing warts with liquid nitrogen is very effective. A doctor would have to do that, however. Before putting on any medicine make sure you soak the wart in warm water first. Then, use an emory board to remove the dead skin.

Put duct tape over the wart for six days. Then remove the tape, soak the area in water and use an emery board or pumice stone to scrape the spot. Reapply tape the next morning. Continue treatment continued for a maximum of two months or until the wart goes away. You could put a band aid over the duct tape if your daughter objects to being seen with duct tape on her hand.

I know this may sound silly, but I work for a General Doc and he uses regular duck tape. He cuts a small circular piece to simply cover the wart only. Change it after each bath with a fresh piece. I swear it works! I wouldn't believe it had I not seen it with my own eyes. He reads a lot of medical books and mags. That's where he got the idea. Kids tend to put their fingers in their mouth so watch out if you choose to use a chemical product. I know, my 8 yr old always has her fingers in her mouth. :-)

There are products that use higher concentrations of A.S.A. (acetylsalicilic acid, which is the ingredient of aspirin). Several applications should chemically eventually burn off the wart.
Warts often spontaneously disappear after 2 or 3 years on their own. If the wart does not cause pain, is situated where no one can readily see it, and is not spreading, nor coloured, consider leaving it be.
Good luck.

Children wart remover band-aids. Just follow the directions and she will be fine and it will go away. I used it for my daughter when she was 5 or 6 and it went away without any problems. If it doesn't go away, it gets worse or keeps reoccurring, then take her to a dermatologist.

Something that is advertised on t.v. sounds as if it would do the job, called Wartner. I have seen other brands of wart removers in the drugstore. Read the directions on the box and it should let you know.

Not sure, maybe "Dry Ice" :-O
Do not touch it!!!!!! Use something to hold it to the Wart to freeze it. I not sure you want to try with an 8 year old, maybe she think it fun. DO NOT touch any other skin only the wart.
