Even when my tv is off on mute or on a low volume i hear spanish music coming out of the back of it. We also have the same thing on our phone if someone isn't talking you can hear spanish music in the backround. The only way to stop it on the tv is to unplug it. I was just wondering why and how this is happening.

There is a good possibility that someone the listens to Spanish Music that resides near you has one of those "wireless" speaker systems, it broadcasts a signal (usually good for 300 feet) from the radio/TV to the remote speakers. The signal is broadcast on an FM frequency, the same type of frequency used by TV sets. You can buy a filter for your devices but since you have many devices (TV/Phone) that can get expensive. A good way to combat the problem (and get your point across) is to get a "noisy" AM broadcaster (A CB Radio) and talk on it to your friends, this will interfere with their reception of their signal (your voice will be heard on the remote speaker system interfering with their music) and they may disconnect it. In so doing you will also be messing up others neighbors TV sets though so this can lead to further problems within the community. Another way to interfere with their signal is get an electric motor (a hair drier, vacuum cleaner or an electric shaver) running that will cause "static" in the offenders system, but it will also cause your TV to have the same interference. A good way to cope with this would be invite friends over for a "Mexican Fiesta" serve Tacos and Burritos and let your neighbors supply the background music and enjoy. When life passes you a lemon get some salt and Tequila and turn the problem into a PARTY!!! Good Luck. Nye

Your tv must be receiving radio signals. I know this can happen on the phone. If you want to get rid of it on the phone, you need to listen to find out what station it is, then call the phone company (or maybe it's the radio station). They will send you a filter for your phone line. I have no idea how to stop it from happening with the tv. Maybe it's got a special radio antenna in it so you can get radio and it's malfunctioning or the radio signal is so strong it's getting picked up. If there is a radio antenna in your tv, you might be able to get it disabled by a tv repair shop. I'm sure about the phone, but completely speculating with the tv. Good luck! In the meantime, it's a really neat party trick.

Your TV is probably not grounded.

Its probably cheap wiring.....I had a
pair of Cyber Acoustic speakers that
would pick up radio stations. I got a
better pair and the problem is gone.

Either that or your TV is possessed by the
chupacabra and you must leave a goat
out to sacrifice.

Do you live close to a spanish speaking radio station?

This is actually a very common problem when people live close to any type of radio transmitter.

Your neighbor has a device that sends out a small fm signal. If it bothers you, contact the fcc. Otherwise not to worry....
