Its a 32" Toshiba and is about 9 years old. It usually comes back full screen after you cut it off and on a couple times. Is there any way to fix this problem or is it about to die?

WRONG!!!

The normal problem with these is the solder joints to the verical output IC become cracked and the set drops to a horizontal line intermittently. Yours has finally failed - the repair is sometimes very minor - the worst case is the Vertical Output IC has failed. Very cheap part, easy to replace. Should not cost more than $80-$100 for repair.

nicely, in technical time period, the deflection yoke isn't operating possibly you could attempt yanking the television, whats up be gentle, i'm no longer asking you to spoil it. If it extremely works after some yanking, possibly some connection difficulty. If no longer, get a provider technician to furnish it a surgical treatment.

IT WILL COST YOU A LOT MORE THAN $100 TO FIX ANY ELECTRONIC APPLIANCE. WALK INTO A COUPLE REPAIR SHOPS AND ASK WHAT THEIR HOURLY LABOR CHARGE IS. THEN WEIGH THE DIFFERENCE IN COST TO REPAIR AN NINE YEAR OLD TV TO BUYING A NEW ONE.
GOOD LUCK!

Your picture tube is blown. You can have it repaired but it will cost more than just getting a new set.
